Now while he was on the bench, his wife sent him this word, "Do not have anything to do with that righteous man, for I have this morning suffered excruciating pain in a dream caused by Him."

On hearing this Pilate had Jesus brought out and had Him sit on the judge's bench at the place called the Stone Platform, or in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

While Gallio was governor of Greece, the Jews unanimously attacked Paul and one day brought him before the court,

So he drove them away from the court.

After staying there not more than eight or ten days, he went down to Caesarea, and the next day, after taking his seat on the judge's bench, he ordered Paul brought in.

But Paul said, "I now am standing before the emperor's court where I ought to be tried. I have done the Jews no wrong, as you very well know.

So they came back here with me, and I made no delay to take my seat on the judge's bench, and ordered the man to be brought in.

Then why should you criticize your brother? Or, why should you look down on your brother? Surely, we shall all stand before God to be judged,

Do you not know that God's people are to judge the world? And if the world is to be judged before you, are you unfit to try such petty cases?

So if you have the ordinary cases of life for settlement, do you set up as judges the very men in the church who have no standing?

Listen, my dearly loved brothers. Has not God chosen the poor of the world to be rich in faith and to possess the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
